Thank you!

It happened sometime yesterday, and unfortunately I don't have any way to discover the party responsible for it or I'd thank them specifically - this little blog of mine passed the 2,000 hits mark! In the grand scheme of things that's a tiny little number, especially compared to many other blogs that are out there. But I'm pretty chuffed about it.
I'd like to thank everyone who reads this. There are only three actual followers, and only one of them is unrelated to me. The other two are my ex wife and my lovely significant other. But there are obviously a lot more people looking, reading, and possibly even enjoying the blog. My sincere thanks to all of you!
The blog has gone through a bit of a metamorphosis over time. It started out solely as a showcase for the custom arrows I make. Then came some posts about things I do or small trips we take. The gourd work got added in and I've had a lot of fun with that. The most recent addition has been two short works of fiction that I really enjoyed writing. Throught it all people have been very supportive of everything and I have enjoyed communicating with those who have left comments in various areas.
Going forward we'll have more of the same: arrows, gourds, trip accounts, and maybe some additional writing when I get some done.
Just so you know, if you've been thinking of getting a set of custom arrows, this is a good time for me to do some. My daytime job ended about a month ago and, unfortunately, I have some time on my hands. This is a good time to order arrows!

Thanks for reading!

  2. Thanks, Garith. I really appreciate that.
I was glad to hear that Dirt Time went well. There was at least one forest fire up in the San Gabriels and I didn't know exactly where you guys were for the event.
Can you imagine the new ranger on his radio after seeing you guys: "Sir, some of them are in loincloths and they're teaching one another how to start fires with sticks and rocks... there are sparks everywhere! They just offered me a roasted ground squirrel. What should I do?!"

    Wheee!

  3. It was more like a mash of military clothing and camping clothing with everyone hovering around 2 or so knives on their belts.

No roasted ground squirrel but there was a roasted bird caught in a Indian trap, and a roast cut with a katana buy a guy in a kilt.

  4. O, well. Reality hardly ever lives up to the dreams.
Still, from all accounts the event went well and everyone had a great time. I'm glad you got to go.

  5. Guy, I don't have your email address here in the UK, so I have to post. Turns out my friends from Hong Kong are getting married in the US, and we're invited -- on the 20th! :-(
Since they're staying with us, it would look kinda dumb not to go, so I have to miss the archery day. I REALLY hope they meet again in October.
